The Canadian Art Therapy Association (CATA) is a non-profit, self-regulating professional organization for art therapists. It was founded in 1977 by Dr. Martin A. Fischer, a psychotherapist practicing art therapy. The purpose was to unite and promote the emerging profession of art therapy in Canada.
